FIN: 03-0440733
In 2002, Eta Gamma Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®, located in Sacramento, CA, created the EGEEO Foundation, Incorporated, as its philanthropic arm, pursuant to the provisions of the California Non-Profit Corporation Code.
The mission of the Foundation is to establish pathways to improve the quality of life for citizens in the city of Sacramento and in the surrounding communities, by addressing the needs of these communities in a way that will decrease disparities in education, economics and health.
The specific purpose for which this Foundation is organized is to provide educational assistance and charitable services to residents of the city and county of Sacramento, by providing direct assistance to individuals seeking higher education and/or charitable assistance services as well as funding support to not-for-profit organizations.
These purposes are achieved by meeting financial needs through grant underwritings, scholarship offerings, and direct charitable assistance services to families, individuals and not-for-profit organizations through programs that promote self-reliance, self-empowerment and self-sufficiency. The Foundation sponsors direct service programs that meet these goals; and partners with community-based organizations that have similar goals and interests.
Specific Programs supported by EGEEO Foundation, Incorporated include:
-
Workplace Reentry Program (WRP)
-
