ETA GAMMA OMEGA CHAPTER

Eta Gamma Omega History
The illustrious history of Eta Gamma Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated began on November 22, 1958 in Sacramento, California. Sixteen visionary women and others established programs of service in the 1960s that are still ongoing. Today, the Eta Gamma Omega Chapter is over one hundred members strong and continues to serve its community.
The first Debutante Ball was held in 1962. Proceeds from this event and subsequent balls were used to establish a scholarship fund to help defray the expenses of deserving students in the Sacramento community. Through the Chapter’s scholarship program, nearly half a million dollars has been awarded to high school students.
